Mr. Schenk's practice focuses primarily on
commercial, business, contract and corporate law and associated litigation. He also specializes in zoning, planning, environmental
and land use issues. He has extensive experience in commercial real estate matters and personally advises a number of large
and small business owners.
Mr. Schenk, one of the firm's founding members, is a lifelong resident of the Grand
Rapids area. He began his studies at Grand Rapids Community College (then Junior College) and received his Bachelor of Arts
degree from the University of Michigan in 1965 (with great distinction, Phi Beta Kappa). He went on to receive his law degree
from the University of Michigan Law School (cum laude, 1969; Order of the Coif).
He has served on committees for the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the State Bar
of Michigan, is a past member of the Grand Valley State University Foundation, the Grand Valley University Friends of the
Arts, and has recently completed his term as Chairperson of the Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees, where he
continues his term as a Trustee. Mr. Schenk is an active member of St. Thomas Church, is a member of the Lions Club and is
active in community affairs.
